Sportrack Network and UNIR join forces
to advance gender equality and leadership in sports through research and innovation.
On 12 May 2025, Sportrack signed a collaboration agreement with Red Proyectum at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) to promote applied research and knowledge transfer in sports and gender equality.
This partnership’s main objectives are to identify and address the structural and cultural barriers limiting women’s access to leadership and coaching roles in sport, to promote the development of psychological skills, and to encourage gender-transformative practices in training and club culture.
Under the leadership of Dr Olga Delgado (PhD), Head of the Sports4All #LeadTheChange project, UNIR will conduct research focusing on analysing recruitment dynamics and organisational culture, studying the impact of psychological competencies on women’s career progression, evaluating gender equality initiatives in sports organisations, assessing the influence of media representation, reviewing international best practices, investigating the role of professional networks and mentoring, and measuring the effects of training programmes on women’s advancement in sports leadership and coaching.
The aim of this agreement is to generate practical recommendations and scalable solutions that promote diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities within the sports sector.
